چکیده

This study presents the strength development and durability of heat non-heat-cured geopolymer mortars (GMs) produced using metakaolin (MK), ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS), silica fume (SF), calcined perlite (GCP), raw (RP), potassium hydroxide (KOH), sodium metasilicate (Na2SiO3), standard sand, tap water. An optimal combination MK with various pozzolans constant solid/liquid alkaline activator ratios were determined. It was found that GMs, including GGBFS a 1.45 ratio 2.0 ratio, resulted in compressive at 88 MPa. Analysis GMs performed scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDX (Energy Scattered X-ray Spectrophotometer), diffraction (XRD). According to results obtained, mainly alumino-silicate-based formation, from KOH solution, calcium The SEM images showed grains high content, approximately 6–7 µm size, are quartz crystals embedded gel structure. heat-cured exposed MgSO4, Na2SO4, HCl solutions for tests. higher than as sufficient. use improvements terms durability.

Influence of curing conditions in air lime-metakaolin blended mortars – A mineralogical and mechanical study

The need to formulate mortar compositions with adequate durability and compatibility is nowadays one of the major challenges in historical buildings repair. The incorporation of pozzolanic materials as addition or replacement of lime is viewed as a solution to these challenges regarding the increase in hardening time, mechanical strength, water resistance and durability. This paper includes par...

Influence of Curing on the Strength Development of Calcium-Containing Geopolymer Mortar

This paper investigated the curing effects on the mechanical properties of calcium-containing geopolymer mortar. Three precursors are used: Class C fly ash, Class F fly ash plus calcium hydroxide and Class F fly ash plus slag. Curing conditions included: (1) standard curing at 20 ± 3 °C and RH 95% (C); (2) steam curing at 60 °C for 24 h (S); (3) steam curing at 60 °C for 6 h (S6); and (4) oven ...

Influence Of Curing Conditions on Geopolymer Leaching

The worldwide production of PCC fly ash is estimated at achieving 800 million tonnes per year in 2010 [1]. European Union regulations aim at developing new technologies focused on the recycling of these large amounts of PCC fly ash into added-value products. The synthesis of geopolymer binders may be a successful alternative, giving rise to low-cost and environmentally friendly materials with c...

Effect of Curing Conditions on Strength of Fly ash-based Self-Compacting Geopolymer Concrete

This paper reports the results of an experimental work conducted to investigate the effect of curing conditions on the compressive strength of self-compacting geopolymer concrete prepared by using fly ash as base material and combination of sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate as alkaline activator. The experiments were conducted by varying the curing time and curing temperature in the range of...
